Sharla Flock Designs is a floral design studio specializing in beautiful wedding and event work. Our passion for flowers is deeply rooted in our desire to connect nature & people through creating designs that cerebrate the people they represent.

We practice sustainability throughout our business and love supporting our local growers as well as taking cuttings from our own garden. Our honeysuckle and scented geranium are amazing! We believe in the power of flowers and enjoy nothing more than donating arrangements following our events to homebound seniors in our community.

Sharla’s love for flowers bloomed as a child when a close family friend launched her first flower shop out of the back of her father’s law office in the 1970’s. Since this time Sharla has followed the path to happiness through flowers.

As owner & principal designer, Sharla’s design ability & desire to create is far reaching. Ranging from intimate weddings to elaborate event design. Each project is embraced with excitement and commitment to deliver floral design that is centered in a deep love for her craft and with a BFA in Fine Arts under her belt, Sharla truly understands how color, composition, and design plays into creating truly unique floral & event design.

Sharla’s floral arrangement graced the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine in the spring of 2010 and speaks to the quality of work she & her staff produce. Since opening Sharla Flock Designs in 2002, Sharla’s work has been published over 30 times in various leading industry magazines.

When choosing Sharla Flock Designs for your wedding or event, you are consciously deciding to ensure that your special event will be artful, unique, and created by someone who is passionate about your vision and is focused on the details.

The pandemic has allowed my creative soul to blossom in new ways and finding gratitude in this current state has been my blessing. The desire to create something that could benefit others grew deeper. Together with my friend Rita @tellitcandles we created a really good smelling, essential oil soy candle in honor of our VP, Kamala Harris. It’s layers of blood orange, palo santo, bergamot, and bitty-bits of cedar for a really, really good fragrance. I sketched the label and my sweet friend @_gloria_wong_ of @harlowandgrey got it to a digital happy place for printing. We’re selling this candle over at my side hustle @bloomtuesday and donating 50% of our proceeds to the @dreamyouthclinic in Oakland to support their stipend program for the vulnerable youth who work in the community garden to allow for their own growth, healing, blossoming. Thank you in advance for your love. We’re shipping the candle nationwide too with free delivery in SF. ...

The countdown to getting my hands on wedding flowers has begun! This time next week I’ll be an incredibly happy (and grateful) camper! Micro Weddings for the Win! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 ...

11 years ago today my arrangement graced the cover of @martha_weddings and it feels like a lifetime ago. I was a new mom with a one-month old and about to have the busiest wedding season of my career. My bride @eunicejames was by far one of the most brilliant artists I had the pleasure to work with and I loved all of the quirky details she came up with for her wedding. I got to work with @kateberryberry which was amazing- per usual. Working with her was a comfort and joy since we both came from the world of flowers in San Francisco. Our photographers @giacanali and @sararemingtonphoto worked magic with the lighting Mother Nature provided and captured all the beauty. I recall the heat, the constant smell of sulfur (@wilburhotsprings ) and rattlesnakes coming to check in on us. I had the best ladies @lot.194 @daisyoholland @atomicquain to help pull this off. And getting to work with @lisafeldmaneventplanning was the first of many collaborations. I realized that although this feels a million miles away, especially due to the pandemic and not being able to do my job, I’m allowing myself to really appreciate this again. Like a beautiful memory filled with an abundance of gratitude 🌸 ...

Grateful for friends @kelsconnely + @downeystreetevents for work that feeds my soul. Weddings are magic, regardless of size or location. Ready to embrace March and a delightful wedding that awaits us 💕 ...

Flower therapy and @bloomtuesday have literally gotten me through 2020 - on so many levels. As we look ahead to this new year I’m finding the urge to not look too far out into that future in order to protect my heart. Instead, I’m going to baby step this one. It’s not how I normally approach things, but am slowly learning what is healthiest for me. My heart is with all of my couples who will also need to take baby steps until we know more. But, what I can be certain of is this. Once it’s safe to celebrate together in large groups I will be sprinting to that with ALL THE FLOWERS 🌸 Until then, baby steps and a heart full of gratitude. ...

Sharing our @bloomtuesday BEST OF 2020 here because it feels right to share all the goodness that came from this year. This year started off with some really beautiful weddings with some of my most favorite planners, in January and February followed by the launch of my third business @theschoolofbloom with our first workshop on March 12th. But, by the end of March, I was crushed. Almost paralyzed with fear over both Ravi and myself not having our jobs due to Covid. Knowing that we would most likely be in this situation for months to come. Thankfully, the beautiful people of San Francisco and beyond showed up for us 🌸Turns out, we are most certainly not alone in our love for flowers. Turns out, flower therapy is really a thing and our little side hustle, floral subscription service is the answer to that need. And... Turns out, this florist was able to quickly learn some new tricks too! I’m forever humbled by 2020 for so many reasons, but mostly for the immense love and support we have received 💖If you’re feeling the need for flowers in your own world, we’d love to have you as a part of our BLOOM TUESDAY community 🌸 Happy 2021 to each of you out there. May you find the silver lining that awaits you. ...
